How to open a Branch or Liaison Office in Bangladesh

Step 1: To obtain permission from the Bangladesh Investment and Diploma Authority (BIDA)

In Bangladesh, a branch office or contact office is required to obtain permission from the BIDA. To apply for permission, the following document is required:

·       Full and signed application form.

·       Certificate of Foreign Company

·       OO and Overseas Company

·       Details of foreign company directors / promoters.

·       Audited accounts of the last financial year of the foreign company.

·       Establishment Board of branch office or contact office

·       The proposed ingredient of the office to extend the posts captured by local and foreign employees

·       Details of proposed activities.

Documents should be certified by the High Commission of Bangladesh or the original country. Alternatively, it can be certified by the Chamber of Commerce's native country. In addition, BDT should pay 25,000 and submit the payment BIDA. BIDA may request additional documents or information as part of the application process. Application with documents will be reviewed by the Inter-Secretary General. If the application is approved, the BIDA will issue an acceptance letter. Approval is valid for three years.

Step 2: Opening a bank for remote installation and initial operating costs. After accepting from BIDA, a bank account should be opened. The purpose of opening a bank account is to repay at least $ 50,000. The amount is to cover 6 months of installation and operating costs. Foreign investors should remove this amount from the date of BIDA approval within two months.

Step 3: Register with the RJSC. The last step is to register a branch or contact office with RJSC. To register with RJSC, the following information or documentation will be required:

·       Approval letter from BIDA

·       Certified copy of all constitutional documents

·       List of all directors and directors

·       Business address

·       Business address in Bangladesh

·       Each person's name and address will have the right to accept any document in the foreign company.
